Setting Up Stripe Connect Payments

Stripe Connect powers TixGate's payment processing, enabling you to accept payments globally and receive payouts directly to your bank account. This guide walks you through the complete setup process.

What is Stripe Connect?

Stripe Connect is a payment platform that allows TixGate to process payments on your behalf while ensuring you receive funds directly. Benefits include:

  • Direct payouts to your bank account
  • Global payment acceptance in 135+ currencies
  • Automatic tax reporting and compliance
  • Real-time revenue tracking

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • A TixGate Professional or Enterprise account
  • Your business registration documents
  • Bank account details for payouts
  • Government-issued ID for verification

Step 1: Start the Onboarding Process

Navigate to Settings > Payments in your TixGate dashboard:

  1. Click Connect with Stripe
  2. You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure onboarding flow
  3. Select your country and business type

Business Types Supported

  • Individual/Sole proprietor
  • Company/Corporation
  • Non-profit organization

Step 2: Provide Business Information

Stripe requires specific information to comply with financial regulations:

For Individuals:

  • Full legal name
  • Date of birth
  • Home address
  • Last 4 digits of SSN (US) or equivalent

For Companies:

  • Legal business name
  • Business address
  • Tax ID / VAT number
  • Business registration documents

Step 3: Verify Your Identity

Stripe uses identity verification to protect against fraud:

  1. Upload a government-issued ID (passport, driver's license)
  2. Take a selfie for facial verification
  3. Wait for automated verification (usually instant)

Verification Tips:

  • Ensure good lighting when taking photos
  • Make sure all text is clearly readable
  • Use a current, unexpired document

Step 4: Set Up Your Bank Account

Configure where you want to receive payouts:

Supported payout methods:

  • Bank account (ACH, SEPA, etc.)

  • Standard: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction
  • European cards: 1.4% + €0.25
  • International: Additional 1% for currency conversion

Managing Payouts

Viewing Payout History

  • Funds available within minutes
  • 1% fee for instant access

Handling Refunds

When you process a refund in TixGate:

  2. Customer receives funds in 5-10 business days
  3. Transaction fees are refunded (minus $0.30)

Partial Refunds

You can issue partial refunds for:
